一、 Installation method:
1. Cold installation:
For bearings with an outer diameter less than 100mm, cold installation can be used. Press the tightly fitted bearing ring into the shaft or bearing chamber. Generally, a hammer or press can be used for cold installation. Whether using a hammer or press, specific tools are required to ensure that the installation force is applied to the end face of the tightly fitting bearing ring, otherwise it may cause damage to the bearing rolling element and raceway surface.
2. Hot installation
For some bearings that fit too close or require too much cold installation force, heating can be used to install the bearings. What should be paid attention to during the hot installation of bearings?
(1) Do not use open flames to heat the bearings;
(2) When the bearing is heated to 80-90 ℃ higher than the shaft, it can be installed, and the heating temperature should not exceed 120 ℃;
(3) The heating temperature of sealed bearings with grease shall not exceed 80 ℃;
(4) When using an oil bath for heating, it is important to keep the oil bath and heating oil clean. At the same time, the bearing should not be placed directly at the bottom of the container, and should be suspended in the middle of the oil bath.
3. Installation of tapered inner hole bearings
Tapered inner hole bearings can be directly installed on journals with the same taper. To install on a cylindrical journal, it is necessary to use a locking sleeve with a cylindrical hole inside and a conical surface outside, and lock the bearing with a locking nut and a loosening washer. The degree of tightness can be measured by the reduction of the radial clearance of the bearing. Therefore, the radial clearance of the bearing should be measured before installation. During the installation process, the clearance should be frequently measured until the required reduction of clearance is achieved. Installation is generally done by locking the nut or heating the installation method.
4. Installation of thrust bearings
When installing thrust bearings, the verticality of the shaft ring and shaft centerline should be checked. The method is to fix the dial gauge on the end face of the box shell, with the measuring head of the gauge on the upper edge of the bearing shaft ring raceway. Rotate the bearing and observe the dial gauge pointer. If the pointer deviates, it indicates that the shaft ring and shaft centerline are not perpendicular. There should also be a clearance of 0.2-0.5mm between the seat ring of the thrust bearing and the bearing seat hole to compensate for errors caused by careless machining and installation of the parts.
5. Installation and inspection of split radial bearings
During assembly, first install the bearing inner race on the shaft (hot or cold installation can be used). Usually, the outer ring component is placed in the bearing chamber first, and then the end cover of the bearing outer ring component is assembled.
二、 Disassembly of bearings:
1. Cold disassembly
In general, cold disassembly of bearings refers to the disassembly of bearings without heating the bearings and bearing related components. Usually for small bearings, this method can be achieved.
2. Heating disassembly
For bearings that cannot be disassembled using cold disassembly methods, it may be necessary to use heating for disassembly. The method of heating disassembly is to use the principle of thermal expansion and contraction to heat the bearing ring, loosen the fitting force, and then disassemble the bearing.
